Bowls News

IndoorShort Mat

Just a reminder to all members that Short Mat Bowls sessions start from Monday 7th October. Monday and Tuesday afternoons from 1.45pm and Monday evenings from 5.45pm. All sessions are £1.50 with tea and coffee in the afternoons and bar available in the evening.

These sessions are run by a very few volunteers. I am appealing for anyone who would help to run any of the sessions, in particular the Monday evenings in December, please let me know as soon as possible.

Ladies Meeting & Coffee Morning

All ladies are welcome to attend a meeting to be held on Saturday 5th October at 10am. We will review the closing Bowls season and discuss ideas for 2025. The Ladies County competition forms for 2025 will be available to complete and pay entry fees. There will also be an opportunity to order new kit ready for next season. Please come along if you can and advise if you are unable to attend but require a County Competition form.

Ladies Game Cancelled

The final ladies fixture at Wolvey on Saturday 28th September has been cancelled due to lack of bowlers from both teams.

Judy Thomas – Funeral Arrangements

Mike has provided the following details of Judy’s funeral. All are welcome to attend:

12.30 Thursday 3rd October, South Chapel, Oakley Wood crematorium (half a mile from M40 Junction 13. From north and west there is no M40 exit at Junction 13...leave at Junction 14).

All are welcome. There will be a buffet afterwards at Wethele Manor Farm, Weston under Weatherly, CV33 9DD from 1:30pm.

People can attend the funeral "virtually" as it will be webcast live on the internet, and then available online for a while afterwards. But if you are able to come to the reception please let me know (for catering numbers).
