Green Opening Postponed until Monday 15th April

Rugby Thornfield Fixture Cancelled

With all the rain we have been having the green is still very soft. Ideally we could do with a week of dry weather but looking at the forecast for the next couple of weeks that's not going to happen. Reluctantly I have had to take the decision to postpone opening of the green until Monday 15th which means that the Mixed Match against Rugby Thornfield on 13th April has to be cancelled.

I’m sorry to have to do this but we can’t control the weather and we don’t want to risk damage to the green.

Sad News

Mick Smith, one of our long serving bowling members, sadly passed away on Thursday 28th March. Mick joined the club in 2009 and was a very active member. He was Bar Manager for quite a few years and also helped on the green team for a while.

Pauline said “he did enjoy his membership of Lillington and had a lot of pleasure playing in matches”. We send our heartfelt condolences to Pauline. Details of the funeral arrangements will follow.
