Ditch Renewal Fund

Bowling Green Perimeter Ditch Renewal – Grant Award

Lillington Bowling Club has been awarded a grant of £1,000 towards the cost of renewing the perimeter ditch to the green alongside the Jubilee Pavilion. The grant is from the Town Council of Leamington Spa Community Fund and will go towards the cost of materials. The work to renew the ditch will be carried out by volunteers from the club led by the green team and will start when the green closes at the end of the season. This money will partly fund the purchase of the Glass Reinforced Cement ditch units but all other materials will need to be funded by the club. The total cost of the work is estimated to be around £3,500 so a further £2,500 is required.

To raise the rest of the money, the Management Committee has agreed to establish a “Ditch Renewal Fund” and will be organising events and activities to raise money specifically for this project.

In September the green team will be asking for volunteers to join them to carry out the work throughout October. The club has a good record of tackling self build projects and are hoping for a good response for both funds and volunteer help.
